i think it’s pretty shitty that it’s 2021, and jo’s line “i just think women, they have minds and souls as well as just hearts, they’ve got ambition and talent as well as just beauty and i’m so sick of people saying love is all a woman is fit for, but i’m so lonely” still resonates with women everywhere; that women still feel the need to prove that they are more than just pretty dresses, that they’re smart and thoughtful and witty and talented, and are afraid to want love because it’s seen as a weakness.
